30 years! Seems like a lifetime ago. High School was something I just had to get through at the time on my way to other things, so I didn't spend much time making memories back then. Wish now I'd got to know a lot of you better. Sorry I won't be able to attend the reunion.

After graduation from LHS I spent six years earning a four year degree in Recreation and Camp Administration. That path took me first to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for several years of Bible and Pastoral Training. From there I transferred to Biola University in southern California for my degree. Between Moody and Biola I spent a year in Stehekin at the head of Lake Chelan. During that time I served as a student pastor for a very small church while working for the North Cascades Lodge and Park Service. Marriage followed in 1985 shortly after graduation from Biola and then a brief stint in a position at Buck Creek Camp near Crystal Mtn Ski Area.

Having spent part of my senior year at LHS and several summers working part time for a land surveyor in Edmonds, I went back to that in 1986 when the camp position ended. We lived in the Lynnwood area for several years before settling in the Smokey Point - Stanwood area for 14 years until the marriage ended in 2002. I've remained in the surveying/land use industry working for firms in Edmonds, Lynnwood and Everett. I earned my Professional Land Surveyor license in 1996 and have been a Project Surveyor with Harmsen & Associates Inc. in Monroe now for the past 8 years. We're a firm of over 50 individuals providing private, commercial and public clients with civil engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture and land use planning services throughout Washington.

Besides my career, I head up the Awana Club, a children's ministry program, at Snohomish Community Church. I have the privilege of working with an outstanding volunteer staff of about 50 adults serving over 170 kids from birth to sixth grade and beyond. I'm looking forward to my fourth year leading this dynamic ministry.

When the weather allows, I like to get into the mountains as much as possible and am working on summiting the two dozen or so highest peaks in the Washington Cascades. I have one volcano (Glacier Peak) and about nine peaks over 8800' left to go. I'm also a member of the Everett Mountaineers.
