Saturday 3/6/2010, Cheyenne, WY|
The interstate was closed between Cheyenne and Laramie for about 18 hours ending today around noon. My guess is Wyoming can't afford enough plows to keep the roads clear like other states do. Instead they install gates at the beginning of onramps and close the road when it gets too slick. They do use some plows, but they don't seem very effective at preventing snow and ice from building up.
